Paper Whisper

Handwoven sculptural textile piece that explores lightness and airiness of paper textiles.

We often blame invasive plants for the decline in biodiversity, but a critical look reveals that the root of the problem was caused by humans, while the plants merely grew through the cracks in our ideas. The project explores possibilities for coexistence and seeks constructive solutions that transcend negative connotations. From paper made of Japanese knotweed, produced by the collective Trajna, a handcrafted paper yarn was created for a handwoven piece. Paper Whisper describes the lightness and airiness of paper textiles, which tell a story of new perspectives on invasive plants.

The project was presented at BIEN 2025, the Slovenian Textile Art Biennial, and was part of GO! 2025, the European Capital of Culture. It was exhibited in the Lantieri Palace in Gorizia, Italy.
